RE: Need advice on new disability situation and rigs.

Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and helpful ideas, encouragement and offers of support! You are a great group!!! I wanted to give you an update anyways about Ashley as it has been 3 weeks already. Did I say already? I mean it seems like an eternity but it has been 3 weeks and she can wiggle her big toe in her right foot and has movement in her left foot when she tries to move her toes. She isn't eating very well and feels nauseated often but drinks alot of water.
I bedazzled her neck brace for her and she looks like a princess! Least I could do. Fighting with ChampVA insurance as they feel that she HAS to have Medicare Part B in order to have ChampVA-hello, she has been receiving ChampVA insurance priviledges because her father is a disabled Vietnam Era Veteran-and she was deemed a helpless child, has had those benefits since 1999 and when she turned 18 she was able to collect SSA on her own and then in 2007 I only signed her up for Medicare part A because it was FREE. There was no reason for her to pay $83 out of her $500 a month benefit for Medicare Part B when she utilized ChampVA which met all of her needs. Now that ChampVA is the secondary they are saying that they will refuse to pay unless Ashley pays to Medicare Part B back to Nov 07??? I contacted my Congressman and said you know, this is the last thing we need at this time, these are two completely different governing bodies with two separate benefits, I do not understand how ChampVA can dictate how Ashley has to spend her money in order to have a benefit she is entitled to have.
This is also now hindering her ability to move to REHAB-yes she is ready to go. Anyone have any words of wisdom here? I did offer that I could cancel the FREE part A and then ChampVA could be the only insurance and it would cost them more-what sense does that make?

Need advice on new disability situation and rigs.

On our way to our new assignment our children 20 yrs old, were involved in a rollover accident (they were pulling their own TT behind their Land Rover) going 50 MPH-no one knows what happened but the vehicles came apart in separate directions and the Land Rover flipped 3 times leaving our daughter a quadraplegic (she is 2 weeks now into ICU) son is fine but traumatized.
We saw what happened as we were in our Tiffin right in front of them. We are new to this spinal cord injury (kinked like in two places) and a broken neck at the C5-7 area. She has always had feeling to her toes just cannot move her lower extremeties and has weakness in the upper.
Thank goodness they are alive.
We need to get some type of wheelchair that is good in campgrounds, holds up to 300 lbs-any advice there?
Also we would love to hear from any of you that have advice on how or what to get that would accomodate a family of 4 that are full-timers and a vehicle that she can get into.
Thank you as always for your help. I apologize as I don't get to a computer very often these days but I will look for your responses and thank you in advance.

RE: Help me please with my Air Compressor

I have a 102 lbs now so in otherwards I am not going to fill that big tire! This particular model doesn't have a regulator but now I get it! I guess I needed something with at least 125 PSI correct?

Help me please with my Air Compressor

I must be totally stupid! Bought a new air compressor after reading the posts. I "thought" I bought the right one, a Caufield 100 PSI 1 gallon.
All I need is to put another 6-8 lbs in my 22 inch RV tires. The compressor turns off after it fills the 1 gallon tank however no air will go into the tire. It lets air out of the Motorhome tire when trying to insert the chuck and it will fill regular car tires with air.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong before I go nuts? LOL although this is far from a laughing matter at this point?

RE: has anyone worked at southforty

Yes, we work here now. The owners are very nice people and alot of fun to work with and for. One stop shopping in Colonial Heights is on one street-incredible-a mall, target, K-mart, Walmart, Petsmart, eateries, everything and anything. Close to Ft. Lee (13 miles), and there is closer shopping 6 miles up the road at a Super Walmart and eateries and other stores. Historic Petersburg and their Battlefields are nearby.
I would recommend this place to anyone. If you enjoy a campground as opposed to an RV resort setting-you would be very happy!

I 64 W to I 81 S Richmond VA to Knoxville TN

Okay, I hear this is a better route with the 39 FT motor home with tow.
Someone said it is alot faster than 460 from Colonial Heights area.
Anyone know if this is correct? Said that 85 S to 40 W- well 40 W part of NC is very curvy and hilly?

RE: US 460 W in VA to I-81 S into Tennessee to I-640 W

Had considered driving down 95 S to Rocky Mount, taking I64 W and then hitting I40 from there, do you think that is way too far out of the way?
I like your idea though thank you. First stop is Asheville, NC. Or I could take 85 S into I 40 W?

RE: Kitchen Faucet water has awful smell

The smell was coming from the faucet when we turned on the cold water only. Pee trap checked, but thought and thought about the hose the water travels through and still no more smell after cleaning the water hose itself. We will still clean our hot water tank because that maintenance should be done.

RE: Electronic Workamper.com - Search Criteria

I learn something everyday-thank you. I will say though, I do love receiving the Workamper News so much. I have the ability to pass over states I may not be interested in working at this time but I learn so much from reading each of these ads-what they offer, what the area is like, what they are looking for, somewhere I might consider for the future etc.. I do save my back issues as they do change and they have very interesting articles to read as well that are very helpful. IMHO of course. Not to mention I can print off any page I want when needed LOL.

RE: Electronic Workamper.com - Search Criteria

Yes it does come in PDF. Adobe format. Does that enable you to search because that is exactly how I receive mine and then save it to read as I desire.

To my knowledge (as this is what I receive) you can only read the whole thing. I do save the document to my computer to read at my leisure though. Hope this helps you.

RE: Kitchen Faucet water has awful smell

We actually cleaned out the water hose itself first. Guess what, no smell. I thought and thought about it, we never change our water hoses and you know that things travel through those hoses from place to place before it hits our filter system. So we used Fresh Water Tank Tabs and let the foam run through our hose and system-smell is gone for now. I will keep you posted.

Kitchen Faucet water has awful smell

Don't understand why only this faucet. I have changed the water filter, checked the screens, changed my water pressure regulator (which by the way apparently does go out). I am at a total loss.
